TRADE RELATIONS BETWEEN INDIA AND CHINA

1 comment :

India is a vast country having a population of almost 135 Cr and has the biggest trade relations with China for so many years. For now, it is safe to say that the relationship between these two will never be the same.

This relationship always has been more beneficial for China than India for many reasons.
Here's the reason why did that happen!

Recently the troops of India and china clashed on the LAC Border.
According to news, China violate the rule and entered into the Indian territory and attacked Indian soldiers.

In this clash, some Indian and Chinese soldiers lose their lives.
After that, there were so much .rage in public all over India for china and that resulted in the Banning of 59 Chinese apps in India.

The officials said that these apps are prejudicial to the sovereignty and integrity of India, defense of India, the security of the state.

Now, the trade relations between India and China are also get affected by the current situation.
The peoples of India are now protesting against Chinese products all over India and also on the Internet by using hashtags like #banchineseproducts and #banchina.
These protests can be seen on twitter and other social media platforms.

According to reports, 6 out of 10 peoples are refusing to buy anything from china whether it is a smartphone or other electrical appliances.

But the relations are too strong and can't be broken in a day or even in months.
A study suggests that India will take a decade to get fully dependent on itself for everything.

So we won't see it soon.

The products and goods India imports from china cost more than USD 64 Billion and India exports to China only of USD 15.6 Billion.

It means that this sourness in trade relations between these countries will lead China to great loss.
This loss will affect the employment rates in China and increase the opportunities in India.

List of items that china exports to India -:

1. Electronic equipment
        a. Smartphones
        b. Telephones
        c. Electric Heaters
        d. Industrial Printers
        e. Computers
        f. Video games
        g. Microphones and Headphones etc...

2. Gems, Precious metal coins
        a. Iron and steel
        b. Gold

3. Medical, Technical equipment
        a.Optical,photographic
        b.Cinematographioc
        c. Measuring equipment
        d. Medical equipment

4. Organic Chemical
        a. Fertilizers
        b. Plastics
        c. Rubber Tires

Smartphone Companies located in India -:

Smartphone manufacturers like Vivo, Realme, OnePlus, Oppo, and many other Chinese companies import most of the components from China and assemble it in India.

But boycotting them is not a great idea since these companies has built facilities in India and they also created jobs and pay taxes to the government.

These Chinese companies had already given jobs to more than 50 thousand workers in India and having their own manufacturing facilities which are also located in India.

If the government of India bans these companies or smartphones( as mostly top-selling smartphones are Chinese ) then, peoples of India would also have to face so many problems regarding the prices of other smartphones in India since Chinese brand offers great features at low prices and non-chinese brands are little expensive comparing to Chinese brands.

Why all the Chinese products are not banned in India?

This is a serious issue in which the Indian Government has no control over it. It is not possible to ban imports from China because unfortunately, we have a deep relationship with Chinese products in every spare of our life.

Some of the electronics items are just made in India that does not mean they don't have any relation with China. In every electronics item, some of the parts used are Chinese.

Or we can say that Chinese products are used in each of the electronics items which we use in our daily life. In this way, we all are somehow dependant and connected with China.

India imports 60% of its medicine from china. And that's really a huge concern for India.
In India after electronics and machinery, the greater demanded thing is Medicine. Most of the Drugs and Fertilisers are imported from China. According to a record of 2014 approx Rs, 1466 crore worth medicines are imported from China.

India must have to reduce its dependency of medicines on China.
The companies in India must produce enough medicines and fertilizers  considering this fact.
According to a report to the last 4 years stats approx Rs 36186 crore pharma was originated in India via China.

Conclusion - Since we can't break this trade relation switch china overnight and there is a very long way to go to be self-dependant in the Electronics Industry, drug industry, and many others.
But this is not impossible to achieve.

Indian government should make its laws more simpler and better to welcome more companies to work in India.

This will help India to solve two problems at once i.e. unemployment and dependency on China.
Also, Some experts believe that the instability in Government lead to these situations.
I also suggest you to buy fewer Chinese products and support the Indian brands.
